{"id":425,"date":"2022-11-07T10:14:18","date_gmt":"2022-11-07T10:14:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theppedirectory.com\/?p=425"},"modified":"2022-11-07T10:18:31","modified_gmt":"2022-11-07T10:18:31","slug":"isma-uk-joins-hses-working-minds-campaign","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theppeandsafetydirectory.com\/?p=425","title":{"rendered":"ISMA UK joins HSE\u2019s Working Minds campaign"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"color: #333333; font-family: 'Century Gothic', AvantGarde, 'Lucida Sans Unicode', 'Lucida Sans', Tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 1.29em !important; line-height: 1.5em !important;\">The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has added the International Stress Management Association (ISMAUK) as its latest partner on the Working Minds campaign.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #333333; font-family: 'Century Gothic', AvantGarde, 'Lucida Sans Unicode', 'Lucida Sans', Tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 1.29em !important; line-height: 1.5em !important;\">Working Minds was launched by HSE last year and is aimed specifically at supporting small businesses by providing employers and workers with easy to implement advice and tools to help them recognise and respond to the signs and causes of stress and support better mental health in the workplace.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #333333; font-family: 'Century Gothic', AvantGarde, 'Lucida Sans Unicode', 'Lucida Sans', Tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 1.29em !important; line-height: 1.5em !important;\">Stress, anxiety and depression are the number one reasons for work-related illness in the UK.&nbsp;<a style=\"color: #a32136; text-decoration-line: underline !important;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hse.gov.uk\/statistics\/\">Statistics published by HSE<\/a>, covering the 2020\/21 period, show that, of the 1.7 million workers suffering from a work-related illness, almost half (822,000) was due to stress, depression or anxiety.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #333333; font-family: 'Century Gothic', AvantGarde, 'Lucida Sans Unicode', 'Lucida Sans', Tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 1.29em !important; line-height: 1.5em !important;\">Whether you\u2019re a small business or a large corporation, the law requires all employers to carry out a stress risk assessment and act upon the findings to prevent work related stress and support good mental health in the workplace.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #333333; font-family: 'Century Gothic', AvantGarde, 'Lucida Sans Unicode', 'Lucida Sans', Tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 1.29em !important; line-height: 1.5em !important;\">Together with partners such as ISMAUK, HSE invites business and organisations across the nation to support its campaign and become Working Minds Champions to help raise awareness and drive change.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #333333; font-family: 'Century Gothic', AvantGarde, 'Lucida Sans Unicode', 'Lucida Sans', Tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 1.29em !important; line-height: 1.5em !important;\">Elizabeth Goodwill from Stress and Mental Health Policy at HSE, said: \u201cWe\u2019re calling for a culture change across Britain\u2019s workplaces so that recognising\u202fand responding\u202fto signs of stress become as\u202froutine as managing workplace safety and we can\u2019t do it alone. They are to&nbsp;<strong>Reach out<\/strong>&nbsp;and have conversations,&nbsp;<strong>Recognise<\/strong>&nbsp;the signs and causes of stress,&nbsp;<strong>Respond<\/strong>&nbsp;to any risks you\u2019ve identified,&nbsp;<strong>Reflect<\/strong>&nbsp;on actions you\u2019ve agreed and taken, and&nbsp;<strong>make it Routine<\/strong>. It needs to become the norm to talk about stress and how people are feeling and coping at work.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #333333; font-family: 'Century Gothic', AvantGarde, 'Lucida Sans Unicode', 'Lucida Sans', Tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 1.29em !important; line-height: 1.5em !important;\">Carole Spiers, Chair of ISMAUK, said: \u201cWe are very pleased to partner with the HSE on their Working Minds campaign.
